Education Quality Assurance

Community Motivation and Development Organization (CMDO).

The pilot sought to improve learning outcomes through the use of innovative assessment tools. It trained teachers on one hand while providing district education officials with IT based monitoring system and necessary training. The pilot was implemented in two marginalized union councils of Lakki-Marwat district.

The pilot benefited 5,292 individuals–33% more than the target of 4,000. The beneficiaries included 20 government officials, 72 primary school teachers (38 women), 225 PTC members, 3,169 students (45% girls), 50 members of CSOs and 1056 poor families and households.

The pilot led to the enrolment of 771 children (348 girls) out-of-school children in the target schools.

Adoption and Scale-up:

The pilot received a positive feedback from beneficiaries including children of selected schools, teachers and communities. The education authorities showed interest in the children’s performance assessment tool used by the project. However the District Education Mangers’ capacity to use such tool is not up to the desired level which needs to be addressed.
