Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Financial Management Reform Strategy Launch – July 20, 2017 Peshawar

SNG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Annual Review Year 4 – March 8, 2017

Led by Matt Carter from the DFID National School of Government International (NSGI), a team of experts reviewed the impacts of the public financial management and governance reforms introduced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) through DFID funded Sub-National Governance Programme (SNG). The team visited Haripur district of KP and met deputy commissioner, district nazim and different senior government officials besides day long session with provincial level senior government officials and SNG KP staff. The delegation had a visit to one of the community awareness camps for diabetes control in Haripur and had interaction with the community as well.

DFID Annual Review Team’s Visit to Hafizabad – March 2, 2017

The Department for International Development (DFID)’s Annual Review team visited one of the six pilot districts of SNG Punjab – Hafizabad on Thursday, March 2, 2017 to meet with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali Randhawa and his team. The visit was scheduled as part of SNG Punjab’s fourth Annual Review (AR), which was scheduled for Tuesday, February 28, 2017 to Friday, March 3, 2017. In order to have beneficiary perspective, the AR team also visited the District GIS Cell and Integrated Ambulance Service (IAS) project.

Teemardar launched at Sheikhupura – 17th May 2016

A digitized supply chain and inventory management system has been launched at Sheikhupura to increase transparency in the procurement and distribution of essential medicines at BHUs. The project has been designed by the Shahid Javed Burki Institute of Public Policy (BIPP) and has been funded under the Challenge Fund initiative of the SNG Programme. The project is expected to benefit 360,000 residents of district Sheikhupura by ensuring availability of essential medicines at the BHUs.

Building Capacities for GIS Implementation – 20-21/05/2016

The SNG Programme organized capacity building workshops to familiarize decision-makers and service delivery managers in the southern districts of Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar and Vehari with the vast possibilities of GIS to enable them to fully utilize the potential of the technology. The workshops were held at Sahiwal and Bahawalnagar on the 20 th and the 21 st of May, respectively.

SNG Programme Annual Planning Workshop – 28-29 April 2016

SNG Programme held the annual planning workshop for the year (2016-17) on 28th and 29th April 2016 at Nathiagalli. The workshop was participated by DFID officials, key government representatives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, and SNG Programme staff. Workshop outlined strategic priorities for SNG Programme year 4, including deepening PFM and governance reforms, adopting innovative institutional solutions (Challenge Fund and GIS) and strengthening the ongoing devolution processes.
