INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING WITH A FOCUS ON POST-COVID RECOVERY AND CLIMATE CHANGE
SNG supports strengthening institutional capacity to plan, budget, and deliver with a focus on post-Covid recovery and climate resilience in both provinces
SNG supports the strengthening of institutions to plan, budget, and deliver, especially social protection and climate resilience:
Building Climate Resilience
- Instituting a climate budget tagging and expenditure tracking system to inform provincial budget strategies, influence policy interventions, and track the delivery of climate commitments
- Helping design and implement climate finance and disaster risk financing strategies for responsible fiscal management and accessing international climate finance
Support to Social Protection
On the back of a major COVID pivot in 2020, helping put in place social protection strategies, and designing specific SP interventions, like, the Punjab socio-economic register, pension for the elderly, and building informal workers database to access them for potential future shocks, and laying the foundations of a social protection system in KP
